The bees have arrived at Bassett Farms! We couldn’t be more excited to welcome our new workers to the property. This is a new experience for us, neither Amy or myself have cared for bees before. We first started considering the addition during our first summer growing produce for the community. We figured if we were going all-in on the farm lifestyle, we may as well dive in head first.
The bees arrived in early May when we were experiencing some truly wild Michigan weather. Their transition into their new home was smooth and from what I can tell- they seem to be a happy bunch. We are planting plenty of bee forage for them to use and are anxious to see them thrive.
